Prioritisation of campaigns

Being in control of the frequency of sending a newsletter to customer and being able to count on not targeting one customer more than once a day is essential. At Samba, we know this, which is why you have several restrictions and settings that you can use to influence the frequency of your newsletter.

1 email per day per 1 customer ID

Samba will only allow 1 newsletter to be sent to 1 customer ID per day. This is a general rule that cannot be modified.
However, there are exceptions where this limit is ignored. From these campaigns, the email will be sent even though the customer has already been targeted that day:

  • External campaigns
    • In addition, newsletters sent via External Campaigns do not count towards the daily limit. The exception is if there is a customer in the customer feed whose ID = email address. In this case, even by sending an External Campaign, the customer’s daily targeting limit is exhausted.
  • API Trigger
  • Abandoned Cart
  • One-off email campaigns – with the setting “Ignore daily limit”

  • Flow campaigns – with the setting “Target also users who have already received an email today”

Customer notification limit

This is an additional setting of the limit of messages per customer, the settings of which are available in Customers and Products -> Contact Management -> Targeting Settings (see here).
The limit only applies to one-off email campaigns and Autopilot. You have the option to ignore this limit when creating a new one-off campaign.

Trigger

Individual Trigger campaigns have their own customer targeting limit, which is available to you right before you create the campaign.

  • Abandoned cart Trigger

  • Repeated orders Trigger

  • Shopping intentions Trigger

  • API Trigger
    • There is no targeting limit within the Api Trigger. The frequency of sending depends purely on the frequency of API calls from your side
