A custom tracking domain can be selected as an additional service. This feature can be very useful to prevent Samba tracking scripts from being blocked by services like Adblock, Adguard, etc.
The process is as follows:
1) Choose your new tracking subdomain
- You choose a custom tracking domain as a subdomain of your root domain, for example “view.eshop.com” if your website is “eshop.com”.
- We recommend choose more indefinite subdomain like view, web, site, …
- We recommend not using names like track, tracking, samba, yottly or other similar words which can be easily identified.
2) Configure your subdomain
- You set a CNAME record directing “view.eshop.com” to our domain “yottlyscript.com”.
3) Account configuration
- Let us know and we will prepare a custom domain for tracking. Then we will change your settings to a new tracking domain.
4) Redeploy of scripts
- You redeploy our basic tracking script and push notification service worker script with their new versions – including the new tracking domain.
- After a successful rollout, it may take up to 1 hour for the change to be reflected in the restoration of tracking and push notification functionality.
