If you want to offer special discounts to your customers, in Yottly you can easily upload set of coupons and use them in newsletters. One coupon is always sent only to one customer and you can track the history of sent coupons.

Work with coupon pools

In the table, Given is the number of already used coupons from the pool, Remaining is the number of available coupons from the pool.

You can create a new coupon pool by clicking on Add coupon pool or add new coupons to an existing coupon pool by clicking on Add coupons.

  1. Pool name: It can contain only lowercase alphanumeric (a-z 0-9) characters.
  2. Expires on: Choose Never if there is no expiration date, or select the Specific date until which the coupons will be available for newsletters (this date included)
  3. Upload coupons:
    • Paste coupons: Input one coupon per line
    • Upload file: Supported format: .txt or .csv, one coupon per line

Export history to CSV enables you to track used coupons in the specific time period and easily check, if the right customer received the right coupon.
The CSV has following columns:

  1. customerId
  2. email
  3. sendTime
  4. poolName
  5. couponCode.

Coupons in template

If you have already created the coupon pool, you can use them in email templates in order to give 1 unique coupon to each customer. It is provided by the use of placeholder {{coupon_value_coupon-name}}, where the coupon-name is the name of the coupon pool you want to use.

If there is not enough of coupons in the pool, no email with the template including placeholder for such empty coupon pool will be sent!

The HTML template editor whispers the placeholder when you start writing the name.

In Drag&Drop editor, click on Merge tags

and then select your coupon pool.
